Any kind of commercially operated trailer can be registered with the exception of horse trailers and RV's.
If you are outside of Idaho:
-Proof of ownership (bill of sale, copy of old registration, copy of title)
If you are based in Idaho:
-Bill of sale to get started (temp will be issued)
-Proof of title work being completed (plate will be issued)
The registraion process can take up to 2-3 business days, but will often be much faster. Once the the registration is processed and paid, a temporary registration will be emailed to you. Once the required documents are submitted, a plate and registration will be mailed out.
The perm plate registration will never expire, as long as the ownership does not change. If the vehicle is ever sold, the regitration will then be invalid.
Yes, we can register the trailer in a name different than the owner. However, the owner will need to sign a document giving permission to the registrant.
